Lucky Dog Animal Rescue Florence Campus

Over 27,000 Lives Saved Since 2009

Increasing Our Capacity to Save At-Risk Animals

On March 9, 2023, Lucky Dog officially opened the doors at our South Carolina Rescue Campus! After completing Phase I of the construction project, the Verstanding Family Foundation Vet Clinic, the The Lazin Animal Foundation Infectious Disease ICU, the JR Peterson Ringworm Treatment Center, and Stopover Station are now up and running!

This project has been a long time coming as since our founding in 2009, Lucky Dog has been committed to increasing life-saving capacity at the source of the problem -- the rural South. The South Carolina Rescue Campus is a place where we can temporarily house and care for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens and prepare them for transport to the Washington, D.C. area. A place where puppies suffering from the deadly parvo disease or kittens impacted by ringworm can be cared for safely and effectively.

To-date, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue has saved more than 27,000 at risk dogs and cats. To accomplish this amazing feat, Lucky Dog relies on an extensive network of more than 2,000 fosters and volunteers in the DC area working together to save animals in need from across the nation. We maximize every dollar received and partner with veterinarians, pet stores, trainers, and other animal welfare organizations to ensure our shoestring budget stretches as far as possible.

Phase two of our construction project will include:

  • Heartworm Treatment & Boarding Kennel
  • Cat Building with Kitten Nursery
