QUINTON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Quinton Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 7 weeks as of 2/20/24 (DOB 12/30/23) SEX: Male
Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 8 lbs as of 2/20/24
Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.
Quinton is Looking For: Quinton and his sister Quigley have been great buds but now they're eager to split up and go off to seek their own human families. Their wish list includes:
- Snuggles!
- Play time!
- Cuddles!
- More play time!
- Deep naps on warm laps!
And then once they're a little bigger - to explore the neighborhood on sniffy walks! To romp in parks, making new pup and people pals! To go to puppy school and show how super smart they are! Most of all, though, they want to know they're safe and loved for all their days. In exchange, they promise happy little tail wags, kisses, all the love in their little hearts - and loyal companionship for all their days.
What do you say? Is Quinton the one for your home and your heart?
What My Foster Says About Me: Quinton is a cuddly boy who is more reserved than his sister. However, once he warms up to you, you're his best friend. He likes to play tug-of-war and is working on sit and leave it -- which he is making great progress with. He loves both of my resident dogs (90lbs and 12lbs). He responds well to corrections from our dogs, and will walk away if they tell him to. He is happy to curl up on your lap while you're working or to go play in the backyard. He is also very good at entertaining himself with toys if you need some alone time! He has stolen my heart, and I am sure he will steal his new family's as well.
Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.
Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than June 30, 2024. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets.
Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog
