DAXIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Daxia Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of November 2023 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 39 lbs
Gets Along With: Daxia does well with other dogs!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home.
Special adoption considerations: We think Daxia would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Daxia has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build her confidence.
Daxia is Looking For: Her forever family! She hasn't had the most awesome start to life, but she's firmly closed that chapter and is looking forward to the one where she has her very own humans for long sniffy walks, romps, and all the adventures they can dream up. She would like nothing more than to trot through the world with confidence, enjoying all the wonderful things about being a well-loved canine companion. To get there, she needs extra loving and patient adopters who will help her experience new places and things at her pace, and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog.
She has so much love and loyal companionship to offer - so many adoring gazes and tail wags. What do you say? Does she sound like the one for your home and your heart?
What My Foster Says About Me: Daxia is such a sweet girl! She can be a little introverted when she first meets new people, but quickly realizes that they're just new best friends to shower her with love! She's coming out of her shell and now loves her foster sister and all the perks of being part of a family! Most experiences were new for Daxia to begin with, but she's learned the joy of playing with toys, sleeping on the couch, and cuddling in blankets. She's also getting the hang of house breaking and crate training. She's been great at the dog park and loves playing with her foster sister!
Daxia is seriously such a sweet dog and has the perfect amount of that cute leftover puppy energy. She's a wonderful little lab who is clearly so grateful to finally feel safe and loved. Even though she definitely had a rough start to life, she's super friendly with people and other dogs. With some time, love, and LOTS of treats (she says that's a non-negotiable) she is really going to be the best addition to whoever is lucky enough to have her as part of their family!
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog .
