CASTIEL NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Castiel           Best Guess for Breed:   Australian Shepherd mix

Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of February 2024          SEX:    Male

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  20.8 lbs as of 2/12/24

Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Because Castiel is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.

Currently Living at:   DC area foster home

Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.

Castiel is Looking For:  His forever home! This sweetie might no longer be a closed-eye little baby, but he's still a puppy and looking for lots of play time and snuggles and all that fun stuff! He's also ready to explore! The neighborhood, the local parks, the world! And all the toys to see what he likes best - balls for fetch? Ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to squeak? Yes, please!

He also wants to go to dog school to show how super smart he is. But most of all, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days. In exchange, he promises lots of tail wags and kisses and adoring gazes - and loyal companionship. He made the trip to DC from Texas just to find his forever family. What do you say? Is he the companion you have been seeking?

What My Foster Says About Me: Castiel has come out his shell and now goes up and down the stairs without being scared, does not hide under the sofa and bed anymore. Still learning how to walk on the leash and crate training. Does not have accidents inside the house if taken out on a timely manner.  He likes to play a lot with his toys he has shown now that he is definitely a puppy and has the puppy energy. He is shy at first but warms up.

Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!

TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.
