I was born and raised in El Salvador with 2 rabbits and a black lab named Oso (which means bear in English). I have always loved animals in general since I was a kid. I grew up begging to go to my grandfather's farm where I kept my own horse named Lucero. I enjoyed horseback riding there for many years until I moved to the United States. While we had dogs growing up, I always longed for a cat -- but my family never agreed.

My wish finally came true when I found Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in the spring of 2018. I adopted my lucky cat Mango, formerly Goober, and he has become the king of my house. Mango is a spoiled baby who loves food, toys, scratchers and cuddles. After his adoption coordinator explained what it means to be from a high-kill shelter, my heart shattered. I felt like I truly could and needed to do something to help all those furry ones that, just like my Mango, deserved a loving and forever home.

I have a chaotic life in general -- two jobs, school, and a husband -- but I knew I could definitely make time to help. So, I signed up to be a Cat Adoption Coordinator. Being an Adoption Coordinator is a huge responsability, yet very rewarding. I enjoy seeing these cats being adopted, knowing that good people have adopted them because I have personally walked through the adoption process with them.

I found it so rewarding that I now help in as many ways as possible -- fostering cats, running errands, helping with data entry and even helping at dog events. All of this is something I do around my schedule and I could not picture myself doing anything else. I am so happy to be a part of the Lucky Dog family.
