The best part? You only have to use one bowl so clean up is easy.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1/3 cup Peanut Butter -- but please make sure the peanut butter you use doesn't contain Xylitol or sugar substitute which can be toxic to dogs.
- 2 Eggs
- 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
These dog biscuits are made a lot like sugar cookies. Mix the dough and then use a rolling pin to roll out the dough (it should be stiff and a little sticky) and cookie cutters to make the cookie shapes. Any size works for the cookies but you will need to place them on a baking sheet and bake around 35 minutes or until the cookies are as crunchy as your prefer (they are fully baked at 20 minutes). You should store these like cookies -- in an airtight container for up to two weeks, the refrigerator for 1 month, or frozen up to 6 months.
Instructions:
- Preheat over to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine pumpkin, eggs and peanut butter. Stir until completely combined.
- Add in flour or cinnamon -- stir until just combined.
- Lightly flour a flat surface and roll out dough to one quarter inch. Using flour as needed to keep dough from sticking.
- Cut shapes out of dough and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-40 minutes -- depending on desired level of crunchiness
- Remove treats from oven and let cool on a cooling rack.
